WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT:    'GLORIFYING GOD'

[Scripture in red indicates wisdom or instruction from our Savior and God's only Son, Jesus Christ.]

Exodus 20: 8-11 4th Commandment: Observe the Sabbath day, to keep it holy, as the Lord thy God commanded you. Six days thou shall labor and do all thy work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God.

Deuteronomy 5: 12-15 4th Commandment: Observe the Sabbath day, to keep it holy, as the Lord thy God commanded you. Six days thou shall labor and do all thy work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God.

Deuteronomy 10: 12-13 Fear the Lord. Obey all of His commands, live according to His will, love and worship Him with all your heart and soul.

1 Chronicles 28: 9 Worship and serve God with your whole heart and a willing mind, for the Lord sees every heart and understands and knows every plan and thought. If you seek Him, you will find Him. But if you forsake Him, He will reject you forever.

1 Chronicles 29: 20 Give praise to the Lord your God.

2 Chronicles 15: 2 The Lord will stay with you as long as you stay with Him. Whenever you seek Him, you will find Him. But if you abandon Him, He will abandon you.

Psalms 23: 1-6 The Lord provides me with everything I need, even in my most troubled times. He provides me with peace, strength, comfort, and direction. He is always beside me. I honor His name and follow His laws in my hope of living with Him forever in heaven.

Psalms 34: 8-10 Even strong lions sometimes go hungry. Those who worship and trust the Lord and honor Him by practicing the wisdom He has given us will never lack any good thing.

Psalms 69: 30-31 Praise God and give Him thanks, for this will please Him more than any sacrifice.

Psalms 71: 16-17 I will praise You for Your mighty deeds, and I will tell everyone that You alone are just and good. O God, You have taught me from my earliest childhoood, and I have constantly told others about the wonderful things You do.

Psalms 100: 1-5 Shout with joy to the Lord! Come worship before Him with gladness. Acknowledge that the Lord is God, for He made us, and we are His. Give Him thanks and bless His name, for He is good. His unfailing love and faithfulness continue to each generation.

Psalms 106: 4-5 Remember me, too, Lord, when you show favor to your people. Let me rejoice in the prosperity of your chosen ones. Let me rejoice in the joy of your people. Let me praise you with those who are your heritage.

Psalms 147: 11-12 The Lord's delight is in those who honor Him, those who put their faith in His unfailing love.

Jeremiah 13: 15-17 Do not act proud. You did nothing yourself. The Lord is the answer to all problems and the provider of all that is good. Acknowledge the Lord as the source for all good things. Then, when you ask Him for help, He will be there for you.

Matthew 4: 10 You must worship the Lord your God; serve only Him.

Matthew 5: 13-16 Jesus said, 'You are the salt of the earth, but what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? You are like a city on a mountain, glowing for all to see. Do not hide your light. Let your good deeds show so that everyone will praise your Heavenly Father.

Luke 4: 8 Jesus said, 'You must worship only the Lord thy God and serve only Him.'

John 3: 27-30 God has appointed each of us special abilities, and we must glorify His name in our work. We glorify Him by following the teachings of His only Son, Jesus Christ. Nothing is more important. And we must be humble and rejoice when others help glory Him.

John 9: 31 God doesn't listen to sinners, but He is ready to hear those who worship Him and do His will.

John 14: 12-14 Jesus said, 'Anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works. Such a believer can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, because the work of the Son brings glory to the Father!'

John 15: 8 Jesus said, 'My true disciples produce much fruit. This brings glory to my Father.' There is nothing more important than glorifying God, and obeying Jesus glorifies His Father.

John 17: 20 Jesus prayed to His Father, 'I am praying not only for My disciples, but for all who will ever believe in Me because of their testimony.'

Romans 4: 20-23 Be ever stronger in your faith. As your faith grows stronger, you bring glory to God.

Romans 7: 1-6 Through Jesus Christ, we can now glorify God under His new covenant through the Spirit rather than by following ancient religious customs.

Romans 15: 1-13 Accept each other as Christians, just as God has accepted you; then God will be gloried. Don't challenge others for the way they worship God. Only God is the judge.

2 Corinthians 3: 7-18 We must glorify God by trying to obey the laws of the Old Covenant, but it is the New Covenant (trust in Jesus) that makes us right with God! As we listen to the Holy Spirit of the Lord within us, we learn His wisdom and become more like Him.

2 Corinthians 4: 11-15 We live under constant persecution because we serve Jesus, but we know that the same God who raised our Lord Jesus will also raise us. And Jesus, through our work as servants of God, will bring more people to glorify God.

Galatians 2: 16-21 We become right with God not by doing what the law commands, but by faith in Jesus Christ. For no one will be saved by obeying the law. We live our life in these earthly bodies by trusting in the Son of God.

Galatians 3: 15-23 The Laws of Moses, the Ten Commandments, were given to us to show how guilty we are and that few people can make it to heaven based strictly on those laws. Because we are prisoners of sin, all must trust Jesus to save them.

Hebrews 10: 23-25 Let us hold tightly to our trust in Jesus because God can be trusted to keep His promise. Encourage one another through outbursts of love and good deeds. Let us not neglect our meeting together for worship now that the return of Christ is near.

1 Peter 3: 15-16 Worship Christ as the Lord of your life. Be ready to explain your Christian faith in a gentle and respectful way. Then if people speak evil against you, they will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong to Christ.

Results Can Vary: Common words are ignored (such as: "if, for, and, because, when, what, where..."). If a word is not found in our keyword database, that word is also ignored. For example, 'sowing love' could find a passage referring to forbidden foods listed in the Old Testament because 'sowing' is not a keyword and 'cloven' includes the characters 'love.' Finally, not all Bible text is searched. Only significant words are considered, although that list is being constantly refined.
Note to Readers: This is a condensed representation derived from several versions of the Christian Bible. Scripture and other information are presented here so readers can refer to and interpret the same passages in their preferred versions.
